The partnership framework leverages the capacity of community groups and in-kind services from Exhibition Place.

What is the purpose of this policy?
The policy establishes a process for Exhibition Place to increase and support local community-led activation events. These events will encourage community engagement and reduce barriers for prospective partners.
Who qualifies as a community partner?
Subject to Exhibition Place approval, community-based organizations such as not-for-profits, community associations, or Business Improvement Associations within Spadina-Fort York, Parkdale-High Park, Davenport, or Toronto Centre wards are eligible to apply.
Applicants who reside or whose organizations are located outside of the above wards are still eligible if the programming is targeted to the local community.
What are community partners responsible for?
Planning, programming, and leading the event. Including but not limited to, supplying equipment, coordinating event logistics, staffing, travel, storage, and set-up/tear-down.
Compliance with all relevant by-laws policies, procedures, guidelines, and collective agreements that are in effect at Exhibition Place.
What types of events are covered by this policy?
The policy applies to events hosted at Exhibition Place grounds that support local community engagement and site activation.
This policy does not apply to events held at the convention centre/exhibition space.
What in-kind support does Exhibition Place provide?
Subject to negotiation, Exhibition Place may cover the cost of labour support, housekeeping, trade services, event space, social media promotion, marketing support, and event coordination assistance in the form of in-kind services.
What is the “pay-what-you-can” option mentioned in the policy?
This option makes events accessible for everyone to enjoy by accommodating participants with varying financial capacities.
How are applications evaluated?
The applicant has the necessary resources to implement the event.
Availability of event space and services.
The proposed event demonstrates the potential for broad community participation.
Exhibition Place staff will review the form to make sure it is consistent with Exhibition Place’s policies, strategic plan, values, and business operations.
